SoCal DOA Tournament - It's a Wonderful FIght - Inglewood, CA


So Cal DOA is going STRONG! A follow up to our first themed tournament we are announcing our second themed Tournament! This time we are putting away the Halloween costumes for Santa suits! SO here goes:

SOCAL DOA Tournament - Farewell AirGear! - November 30, 2013 Wrap Up

Saturday November 30th marked the 4th official Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate Fighting Game Tournament for the SoCal DOA group. This tournament commemorated the retirement of AFD’s* very own A1RGEAR! , who entered the tournament under the handle:  r0ckurw0rld

The fighting was intense as players from both Northern and Southern California fought for the top 3 tournament spots. Two new comers joined the fray, NorCal's AFD TB Return of the Shadow and local SoCal resident ModusPwnins. At the end it was AFD | Hajin Shinobi that took the first place spot with r0ckurw0rld (A1rGEAR!) taking second and  AFD Requiem taking third.

Along with the standard cash prize the winners were treated to special DLC prizing that was provided by Tom Lee, Creative Director at TeamNINJAStudio.

SOCAL DOA Tournament October 26, 2013 Fight or Fright Wrap Up

Saturday, October 26, 2013 marked the first prized tournament held by the SoCal DOA. 12 fighters showed up in force to display their DOA gaming skills. AFD's HajinShinobi, a SoCal resident took the 1st place spot and NorCal's own AFD Requiem took the second place spot, Newcomer iTheApprentice took third.

Dead Or Alive 5 Ultimate - Fight Or Fright: Registration information.

As promised we are releasing the registration process for our up and coming Dead Or Alive 5 Ultimate: Fight or Fright Halloween Tournament. We will be accepting pre-registration payments via PayPal. Pre-registration will be $10.00. For those that would like to register but will need to pay at the door the at the door fee will be $15.00.

Due to limited space at the venue this event is open to 32 entrants. If we have a large enough calling we may be able to increase the number of entrants and make the proper adjustments to house a larger events.

We will then get back to you with the email address to make your PayPal payment. Please note that if you are unable to pay in advance we still require you to fill out the form in order to registered for the event. Location address will be provided at time of registration. The venue is located in Inglewood, California near LAX.




Tournament Details: Console: - Xbox360 - This is a BYOC (bring your own controller) event. Tournament Rules: - 3/5 Rounds. - Best 2 out of 3 Matches. - Double Elimination. - Normal Life Setting. - 60 Second Time Limit. - Dangerzones are on. - Random Stage Select - Winner Lock (Winner must keep the same character). Loser may change characters. - Random Character Select is allowed, but if the winner wins with that character, they must use that character in the second match. - Blind pick is allowed. Entrance Fee: 10 dollars (5 to the pot, 5 to the venue) Pay Out: To be determined based on the number of entrant  ( 60/30/10 or 70/20/10 )

SOCAL DOA Tournament October 19, 2013 Wrap Up

Saturday October 19, 2013 marked the second tournament hosted by the SoCal DOA. Attack From Disadvantage showed up in force to take the First, Second and Third Place spots. One new challenger impressed the crowed with his remarkable Eliot, iThe Apprentice tied for the fourth and fifth place spot with SoCal DOA's own SCD BloodBurger.

SOCAL DOA Dead Or Alive 5 Ultimate Fight Or Fright! Tournament Announcement!

Details: To commemorate the release of the new Trick – or – Treat Halloween Costume Set SoCal DOA will be running a Halloween themed tournament. To get into the spirit of the event all players will be required to use the new Halloween Costume for their character(s).

Wednesday Night Fights, October 16, 2013, Wrap Up

Last night the Dead Or Alive community showed up in force as 17 players entered the Wednesday Night Fights Dead Or Alive 5 Ultimate tournament out at Super Arcade in Walnut, California. Many of the best local players were in attendance including Jared, NGL Filipin0man, AFD Hajin Shinobi, AFD A1RGEAR and SOCAL DOA’s very own SCD SonicTHP. It was a fierce battle as Jared was crowned this week’s Supreme Champion with AFD Hajin Shinobi taking the Worthy Adversary title and AFD A1RGEAR taking the Maybe Next Time (3rd place) spot. SCD SonicTHP tied for the fourth and fifth spot with AFD Vincent Rayne.

The event saw the rematch between last week’s winner NGL Filipinoman and last week’s runner up AFD Hajin Shinobi. The match took place in the second round of the winner’s bracket with AFD Hajin Shinobi sending NGL Filipinoman to the loser’s bracket.


Fights went on till the wee hours of the morning as the Grand Final match ended around 2 am. The event was streamed to nearly 2800 people on Level Up Live’s Twitch Stream.
